Champei’s airy, stylish collections are proudly made in the Kingdom of Cambodia. Our vision is to build a sustainable brand rooted in the values of our small family: respect for the planet, comfort, and effortless elegance.

Our designs blend local and Western motifs through thoughtful use of color, shape, and pattern to create clothing that feels both expressive and easy to wear.

At Champei, we believe fashion should be a way to express beauty while acting responsibly. We prioritize eco-friendly materials and ethical production, ensuring each piece tells a story of care, creativity, and a genuine commitment to the planet.

Our commitment to sustainability

We have chosen to manufacture our clothing in a way that is respectful of local communities and the environment. This commitment requires close attention at every stage of our design and production processes.

Fabric and sourcing

The choice of fabric lies at the core of each Champei design. We prioritize natural, locally sourced fabrics and high-quality sewing materials, reflecting our respect for both people and the environment.

We decided to use the leftover stock from local garment factories, giving high-quality fabrics a second life while supporting local sellers.

Looking ahead, we’re planning to use more locally made fabrics in our designs and are keen to team up with local manufacturers.

Design and craftsmanship

We design with your comfort and style in mind, driven by a desire to be part of the growing movement toward responsible fashion. For us, this means focusing on: 

  • A timeless style: simple yet elegant, with a soft, neutral color palette that blends naturally into any wardrobe.
  • The design that emphasizes durability and versatility, incorporating flexible shapes, additional materials and sewing techniques to ensure the piece lasts. 
  • Sewing details to allow for wider seams and trims, and for future adjustments.

We create patterns for each design and carefully manage cutting layers to minimize fabric offcuts and reuse it whenever possible. We aim to manage the trimmings by storing them for recycling.

Team

Champei is a shared effort across generations, founded by Bopha and inspired by her mother’s love and dedication to the tailoring craft. 

For Bopha, Champei is a way to honor her mother’s craft and to show appreciation for tailors across Cambodia. Having grown up closely observing this work, she understands the skill, patience, and pride behind every garment.

With every piece, Bopha aims to convey the care and dedication behind each stitch. Stitch by stitch, the Champei team creates beauty with dignity, turning fabric into stories of talent, craftsmanship, and tradition. Their work is not simply well made it carries meaning. Their talent deserves recognition, respect, and visibility.
